Our latest fun

This past weekend, the time we had was short together, but we had a lot of fun & made the most of it. Me & Amira decorated these pretty lacey umberella's, While Reid & Richard arranged for more goat babies. & then of course we could not help but to play in the snow that is slowly disappearing with the warm weather...

Loss & Gain

<
Well we had a sad thing happen, Our Duck, which I called Rubber duckie when she was little & Mamma Duck when she was bigger, she led the group! She was also the biggest Duck we had which did not help her when it came to running, so something got a hold of her, she was in a lot of pain when I found her. I brought her in the house, set up the tub for her while she cleaned the dirt from her pretty feathers I looked at the wounds. Reid felt she would only suffer needlessly, so he put her down. The wounds were too much, but she looked at me calmly as I said goodbye... the others were lost without her, the next day they did not leave the coupe, when I went to feed them they were hiding, Darwin stepped out when he saw me & I could see tears, so sad(he was her life mate). Reid came into the coupe to get them out & ran them down to the stream, they are always happy there, they seem better today. I know its silly, she was only a Duck, but we love our Kritters!
Yesterday before Reid went to leave for Wyoming he took some stuff to the goats to check on them, we had Molly in the mother pin so she could have her babies & had been looking at her earlier to evaluate when she'd have them, I had been hoping she'd have them while Reid was here... So he came back in & says "I'm Staying!" My mind was on something else & did not realize at first why he'd say that, then I threw my snow boots on (I call them my pooh boots, or farmer boots, lol) & ran out there... I said after looking at her "within the hour" & sure enough all three were born within the hour! She is a first time Mommy & quite amazing, she did really well, even with Reid's sudden decision to clean our her pin, lol. All three are girls & very Healthy & beautiful, one looks like Daddy & the other two look like Mommy!

So we lost a kritter & got three new!

Welcome 2009 & many changes!

For this new year I have thought up many new goals & things I would like to change, though I have written none of them down I have already started improving on many of them.
Currently our lives have taken on several changes, welcome or not...
Right now Reid has a great job working in Wyoming with a company called Haliburton. He loves it! There are some downfalls which happens, but he is doing well with the training and working hard! he will be out of training in a few weeks.
Wyoming, well, I cant say too much about it, The wind blows & blows some more! There really is not much to do in that small town! So I am home in Newton and taking care of our animals while Reid works real hard.
The question has been asked many times if we will move to make it our home, at this point NO! but we all know how things can change & currently we are struggling with the ex to even see the kids with Reids odd schedule, so we will see. for now all of our goats will move to Dad's farm (sorry Mom!) we feel the ducks & chicken will do alright without a lot of supervision since they scavenger for food anyways. The dogs are set up & the kitties too... I just cant part with my kitties!
Right now Reid is sharing an apartment with a guy he works with, they share the same values so it should be a good thing for both of them.
The hardest part is not being together! Though we have both grown spiritually & our love for each other has grown deeper! As the old saying goes absence makes the heart grow fonder!
Ok, we were visiting some friends this weekend & they gave us some eggs, they are so cute I had to get some pictures & yes we cooked them & ate them! there is a funny joke that goes along with them, though I tend to kill a good joke... lol, The chickens must have got the memo on the shrinking economy...
they are actually quell eggs, the smallest of the quail family :)
Sorry for the length of time its taken me to post, for those followers!
We hope everyone is having a wonderful 2009!
with lots of LOVE
Harold & Naomi
PS) Reid now goes by Harold at his job... really not used to that, lol
